Boston Playgrounds?

Just flagging up that I'll be in Boston next week...science-y stuff during the day but hoping for a couple of playground visits, so if you have a suggestion, let me know!

  1. Not in Boston, but came across your blog and thought you may be interested in an excellent group based in Bristol, UK. They create gorgeous, sensuous wooden play structures from local wood and more often than not run workshops with children/ community groups/ local young people to help make them using green woodworking skills. Their website is www.touchwoodenterprises.com.
    Very interesting blog, thankyou!

  2. I would love to know more/see more about the redesigned Alexander W. Kemp Playground at Cambridge Common. I passed it last month and it looked interesting, but I couldn't stop to play. Here's the official link: http://www.cambridgema.gov/~cdd/cp/parks/common/index.html.

  3. I'm an Oregonian, who is living in Central MA...if you're in Boston, you MUST take your kiddo to the Commons, the playground next to the frogpond is fenced, and it's called the Tadpole Playground...love it! The spongy ground is great for toddlers who stick the woodchips or sand in their mouths. No sandbox, but it's great in summer and winter because of the frogpond nearby and the ease of getting there. I think it's the State Street stop on the Redline?

  4. oh...now that I've looked through your blog, the places you've featured are AMAZING and I'm not sure Boston Commons is what you were looking for...it's a pretty standard playground, but my kids like It :)
