The Swing, George Shaw, 2003

"As a kid, I wanted something to happen."

George Shaw paints scenes from his 70s Coventry childhood in Humbrol enamels...model paints.

"The Swing" is now at the Mead Gallery at the University of Warwick.

  2. Something you must check out is "Musical Stairs" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lXh2n0aPyw
Its an incredible example of a public playspace in a most unlikely setting. One couple look like they're jumping out "Chopsticks", and the guy at the end is stepping out a slow "Can Can Polka", aka "The Turtle" from "The Carnival of the Animals".

  3. Thanks for the link SAndra! The Boston Museum of Science has a set of musical stairs, but the one you linked to is better.
