CORRECTION: Thanks to my alert readers for pointing out that these are actually TWO playgrounds, both named St. Kilda's. The wooden castle and boat are from St. Kilda's in South Australia, and the colorful one with tires and slides are from St. Kilda's in Melbourne. So confusing. But both great playspaces!
WOW!!!!!
ReplyDelete...and this my friends is why Australia is known as "the lucky country!
ReplyDeleteDonna :) :)
P.S. what can I say, I'm a born and bred proud Melbournian!
Unfortunately this playground is St Kilda in South Australia... check it on g**gle maps

@SteveNowland - the address is actually Neptune St Sti Kilda In Melbourne- not sure what google maps is doing but that is incorrect.
ReplyDeleteOkay I went along to the Adventure Playground in St. Kilda, Melbourne today.
ReplyDeleteSteve Nowland you are correct about the first two photos in this great post. They are in St. Kilda South Australia.
The very colourful photos are definitely in St. Kilda, Melbourne and as Tan pointed out it is located in Neptune Street!
I'm guessing that the Melbourne playground is built on approximately 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre. It was totally packed with families enjoying the equipment ... some of which is completely crazy ... but the children were ALL having a blast!
Donna :) :)
Hear is wonderful play ground for children. ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the St Kilda Adelaide photos Arcady.
ReplyDeleteI have AMAZING childhood memories of visiting this park with my family (like 25 years ago).
Despite havign this head full of memories I actually had no idea where it was until your photo and post put a name to the place.
I ahve done a little searching myself and tehre are some more great photos out there you might like to see... Indeed a post on the St Kilda Adelaide playground all of its own might be awarranted... It is really ingeneous how the previously barren and windswept landscape has been developed to house such an amazing park. I particularly remember the log mazes, teh fact taht there were HUGE purpose built slides for eth site, the castle and teh 'dungeon' beneath it (some of eth slides actually end in the dungeon, as well as the great range of unique and purpose buily playground equipment. Of note are things liek eth one track roller coaster, the see-saw with a gap in teh middle, or teh see saw where you sit back to back to your partner instead of facing them. THE pirate ship is new since my childhood, but taht only gives me a reason to plan a tri pyto go and have another look... when I find myself back in AUstralia taht is!
Thanks a ton!
I love your playscapes blog!
