'Curl' Playground Swing, Milos Todorovic, 2010

Serbian industrial designer Milos Todorovic proposes a new swing form as well as a mechanical system that prevents the slide from moving if it is under or over weighted.

I especially like the way the swings can be put together....like cursive writing.

If you're an interested manufacturer (I see you people in the blogstats, even if you don't comment!), get in touch with Milos Todorovic at his website.  Also see the previously-blogged Caracool slide by Joel Escalona.

  2. I chatted with a manufacturer about this one, and it's interesting he said that they considered something similar, but the cost-effectiveness issue was shipping. I wonder if anyone's studied the question of the ideal "cost per play event"? (I imagine this one would be higher than average... but cool nonetheless) Whenever we ask kids, they want swings. But, with safety zones, they take up a lot of playground space... that only serves a few kids at a time. I digress. Thanks for the various swing related posts...
