Modular Climbing Boxes, Kodomo No Kuni Park, Yokohama City, Japan

Via the blog Lost Tokyo, great modular climbing boxes at Kodomo No Kuni park in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.  No info on designer or date; if you can provide them please get in touch!  These hexagonal forms, perfect for creating three-dimensional beehive structures, were popular during the self-build seventies, which gives this structure a nice retro feel.

  3. Thanks for linking to my blog..

Japan is full of interesting, unusual, and non-conventional play spaces. I'll post more as I come across them. So check back.

You may want to check out my post on the Suginami Children's Traffic Park.

BTW - I don't recall that there was any information posted regarding the designer or manufacturer. However, they do remind me of the structures built in the style of the Metabolist Movement.
