The Danish playground manufacturing company Kompan's 'Miram' play feature provides a coaster-like experience to a child seated on one of its two tracks; kids can also stand up for a skateboard-like ride.
One of Miram's most thoughtful features is the provision of a standing space on either end of the structure for friends or onlookers; allowing the play to include elements of community and performance.
I feature 'equipment' only rarely, but this looks like great fun.

I am always excited when I see Kompan equipment at playgrounds. I'm not sure who enjoys it more, me or the kids.

ciao
I love this piece of equipment. When I worked as a designer for Kompan/BigToys in the mid 90's Kompan's Dutch company Spielhout came up with this wild play contraption. I remember the US folks looking at it and thinking "whoa! that would never fly with the US safety guidelines!" maybe it didn't, wouldn't, or still won't, but what a gutsy piece of equipment. Like a tethered skate ramp. Lots of challenge, lots of risk, lots of wild play opportunities. Glad to see it again in action!
